On Wed 27th March, we were invited to the Mayor’s Recognition Awards. Three of our wonderful volunteers were nominated (Stephen Liverman, Diana Harrison and Anne Thorpe) and received a lovely certificate for their dedication to Careline, especially as they have been with us for 26 years!

Also nominated were our trustees for their hard work behind the scenes and the amazing support they have offered to staff and volunteers. Our lovely Chair, Wendy Potts, and Vice Chair, Tricia Barclay, collected the awards on behalf of all our trustees.

We would like to thank Mayor Anthony Bates for a wonderful evening.

CONGRATULATIONS AND WELL DESERVED!!

As a thank you to our amazing volunteers for their continued support and dedication, we had our annual Volunteer Christmas Get-Together at Betty’s Vintage Tea Room in December. We had a lovely afternoon of tea/coffee and cake and good conversation.

Thank you to Julie, at Betty’s Vintage Tea Room for putting on such a lovely spread (and for my millionaires shortbread – it was delicious!) 🩵🧡🩷💚

We held our Christmas Coffee Morning at St. Oswald’s Hospital Foyer on Friday 8th Dec and what a fantastic morning it was! We had around 6 members attend, which is an increase in numbers since before covid. The nurses also brought down several patients to listen to Christmas carols sung by the wonderful Chameleon Choir.

The Mayor of Ashbourne, Anthony Bates, also attended and helped announce the winners of our raffle. Thank you to John Leicester for being Santa for the morning and to all the volunteers who helped on the day – we couldn’t do it without you – as well as everyone who popped by to support Careline. We raised an amazing £916!

Thank you so much!

We held our Winter Gift and Craft Fair at St. Oswald’s Church Hall yesterday, Friday 10th, and what a fantastic morning it was!! The sun was shining and everyone had a lovely time browsing stalls, relaxing with a cuppa and biscuits, and catching up with friends. 🥰

As well as Careline’s own stalls, local makers joined us including Truly Scrumptious selling delicious treats including the most amazing fudge, Alan Fernihough Images selling beautiful paintings and prints, Midland Rosettes selling lots of Christmas items, Jenny’s Perfect Scents selling devine smelling candles and wax melts, Temple Spa Sandra Coxon selling luxurious body care products, and Nicky Wood with her delightful handmade knitted items. Thank you all for joining us and for donating items to our raffle, your support is greatly appreciated. 🫶🏼

Also, a huge thanks to our fabulous volunteers for baking cakes, donating items for our stalls and raffle, and helping out on the day serving refreshments and manning our stalls. We really couldn’t do it without you 🫶🏼

We are thrilled to announce that Careline Calling received an amazing £1000 grant, certificate and award, at the Derbyshire Freemasonry Community Awards last night.

It was a beautiful evening listening to all the incredible work that is being carried out throughout Derbyshire.

We were delighted to reconnect with Liz Fothergill, Careline’s Patron, and meet the new High Sheriff, Theresa Peltier.

Thank you again so much to Freemasonary Derbyshire and to the Masonic Lodges of Ashbourne, who nominated us for this award, we are truly grateful for your support and generosity.

Hannah, Carolyn, The Trustees, Volunteers and Members at Careline.
